How we approach your information

The Defend Foundation is built around minimizing what we collect, keeping it temporary, and keeping you in control of it.

Your information stays with you

Guides and the Privacy Center work without an account, and your answers stay in your browser tab. We build Defend around collecting as little as possible, for only as long as it's needed.

Temporary by design

No account is required. Your answers in a Guide stay in your browser tab and are gone when you close it.

You stay in control

You decide what to share. When a step involves an outside organization, you're the one who goes there and shares your own information; Defend does not send it for you.

AI and your decisions. What you enter in My Case, Take Action, the Guides and the Privacy Center is never sent to an AI service, and My Case's checks on what you write run in your browser. If the Foundation uses AI in a tool, it will assist you, not decide for you: no AI system can authorize a request or act on your behalf.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses only what it needs to stay secure and to make the parts you use work. It uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. Using My Case, Take Action, Guides, Stay Safe or the Privacy Center stores nothing in your browser.

What it does
Before a form is sent, your browser solves a small calculation that our server checks, which makes it harder for automated programs to send forms. It stores nothing in your browser and shares nothing with anyone else.

Your choices. Because nothing optional is used, there is nothing to turn on or off, and no choice is stored in your browser. Cookie Settings, at the bottom of every page, shows this list at any time. If Defend ever adds an optional technology, it will stay off until you allow it, and you'll be able to change your choice there.

Global Privacy Control. Because the site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking, a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser has nothing here to turn off.
